In a recent statement, Merhawi emphasized the importance of setting aside personal egos to enhance team morale and optimism as the season progresses. The club's immediate goal is to secure a top 10 finish in the league while also aiming for success in the Europa League. Achieving victory in this tournament is seen as a crucial pathway to qualifying for the Champions League next year.
Acknowledging that the current season has not met expectations, Merhawi expressed a desire for the team to turn things around significantly, particularly through a strong showing in the Europa League. He highlighted that the ongoing transformation of the club should be reflected in every decision made, especially those that impact personnel.
The focus remains on building a sustainable future for the club, ensuring that Manchester United can continue to uphold its proud legacy while fostering a collaborative and united team environment. The call for unity and optimism is essential as the club looks to navigate the challenges ahead.
